After years of rumor and speculation, a Mafia 3 release has finally been confirmed, by Hangar 13.
The game is scheduled to release this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X.
It has been over five years since the release of Mafia 2, a shooter that arrived for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in 2010. The game followed the story of Vito Scaletta and a number of other memorable characters in the fictional city of Empire Bay.
Mafia 2 received mostly positive reviews due to its solid story line, cast of characters, gunplay, graphics, music, and more at the time. In the years that followed since its release, fans of the series have been calling on 2K Games to deliver another addition to the Mafia family of games and it looks like fans of Mafia are finally getting their wish.

In Mafia III, you can take control of Lincoln Clay as a Vietnam War veteran, who is on a quest to seek revenge for his friends, who are murdered by local mobs. The game is set in 1968 New Orleans, in which the open world design will allow us as gamers to freely explore the new world. In the game, you can complete objectives using a variety of approaches. For example, you can use the weapons provided in the game, like shotguns and revolvers, to eliminate your enemies. Alternatively, they can make use of stealth tactics throughout the entire mission without being noticed by enemies, which is awesome.
The core of gameplay revolves around gunplay. In addition, to enhance your character's overall skills, you can also perform executing moves and engage in melee-combat. Players can attack and overrun locations owned by the Italian mob, and assign one of their lieutenants to operate the location. The available lieutenants are Cassandra, Burke, and Vito Scaletta; Vito was previously featured as the protagonist of Mafia II.

In the coming months since the announcement, we’ve seen a number of new details emerge including some potential hints about the unconfirmed Mafia 3 release date.
Last year, the companies released a teaser confirming a Mafia 3 release for 2016. An exact release date is still unknown though there are some possible clues out there. An April 26th Mafia 3 release date is floating around thanks to retailer listings. That date isn’t confirmed but it’s the first specific date that we’ve seen. That date comes from Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop, three of the biggest retailers in the United States.
Amazon is still listing its release date as April 26th.
Even if we don’t know the exact release date yet, at least we will get something out of this game and more of its new features as well.
